Manage your Vantage subscription plan, view usage, and handle billing

Subscription

The Subscription section of Settings shows your current plan, product usage, and provides controls to upgrade, downgrade, or manage your billing.

Viewing your current plan

The Settings page displays:

  • Current plan name — Free or Starter
  • Product usage — How many products are currently audited vs your plan limit (e.g., "18 / 25 products")
  • Billing status — Active, pending, or cancelled

Both plans include the full feature set — the only difference is the number of products that can be audited.

Upgrading to Starter

When you're ready to upgrade:

  1. Go to Settings in Vantage
  2. Click Upgrade to Starter
  3. Shopify displays a billing approval page with the plan details
  4. Approve the charge — your plan activates immediately

The Starter plan includes a 3-day free trial. You won't be charged until the trial period ends.

Note

After upgrading, trigger a re-sync to audit any products that were beyond the Free plan's 25-product limit. They were already synced — they just need to be scored.

How billing works

Vantage uses Shopify's built-in billing system:

  • Charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice — no separate payment method needed
  • Billing is managed entirely through Shopify — Vantage never handles payment information
  • Subscription is recurring monthly until cancelled

Downgrading or cancelling

Cancel or downgrade your subscription from Shopify admin — go to Settings > Apps and sales channels (or Settings > Billing) in your Shopify admin to view and cancel app subscriptions. Cancelling reverts you to the Free plan.

When you cancel:

  • Your subscription ends at the end of the current billing period
  • You revert to the Free plan (25-product limit)
  • Products beyond the Free limit remain synced but are no longer audited
  • All existing scores and metafields are preserved

Product limit behavior

If your catalog has more products than your plan allows:

  • All products are synced to the Vantage database
  • Only products within your plan limit are audited and scored
  • Products beyond the limit appear in your product list but show no score
  • Upgrading immediately unlocks auditing for the additional products

Tip

Not sure if you need Starter? Start with the Free plan. When you consistently have more than 25 products to audit, upgrade to unlock the full 50-product capacity.
