Installing Vantage
Use the available Vantage Shopify installation link, or its App Store listing when available. Sign in with an account permitted to install apps and manage the products you intend to audit.
Review access
Read Shopify's actual permission screen before installing. Vantage's current requested scopes are:

write_products | Save enabled score/timestamp metafields and explicitly approved product-content changes |
write_files | Save explicitly edited alt text on verified product images |
Baseline score/timestamp writing has its own setting. Approving a product-content proposal can change an existing title, description or supported metafield. Explicit alt-text saves can change image metadata. Installation is not a promise that the app never modifies existing product data.
Initial setup and results
Vantage registers its app-owned product metafield definitions and starts catalog synchronization through Shopify's GraphQL Admin API. Products within the plan's audit limit receive baseline audits. Follow the displayed status; catalogue size, Shopify responses and queued work affect completion time.
The first successful catalog audit can start the initial free optimisation workflow batch. Review its saved results before approving any product-content changes. An enabled score/timestamp writing setting is separate from that approval.
Product metafields
Vantage defines 11 app-owned product metafields using the $app:vantage namespace identifier. Baseline audits write ai_readiness_score and last_optimized when enabled. Other definitions support current enrichment and review-evidence proposals; they are not all unused future placeholders. See Metafields & Syndication for keys and actual write boundaries.
App-owned metafield names and access do not prove that an external AI service receives or uses their values.
