Last updated: 17th January 2025

Orders & Profit

CostSync automatically calculates profit for every order in your Shopify store.

How Profit is Calculated

For each order, CostSync calculates:

Gross Profit = Revenue - COGS

Where:

  • Revenue = Order total (items + shipping collected - discounts)
  • COGS = Sum of (Quantity × Unit Cost) for each line item

Order List

The Orders page shows:

  • Order number and date
  • Customer name
  • Revenue amount
  • COGS total
  • Profit amount
  • Profit margin percentage

Margin Alerts

Orders with low margins are flagged:

  • Red - Below minimum threshold (e.g., less than 10%)
  • Orange - Warning zone (e.g., 10-20%)
  • Green - Healthy margin (e.g., greater than 20%)

Configure thresholds in Settings.
