When to upgrade, how the upgrade process works, and what changes when you move to Starter

Upgrading to Starter

The Starter plan doubles your product capacity from 25 to 50 audited products. Here's how to know when it's time and what the upgrade process looks like.

When to upgrade

Consider upgrading to Starter when:

  • You have more than 25 active products — Products beyond the Free limit are synced but not scored
  • You're consistently hitting the limit — If you keep adding products and they're going unaudited, it's time
  • Your catalog is growing — If you plan to launch new products soon, upgrading gives you room

Signs you need Starter

  • Your product list shows unscored products below the 25-product cutoff
  • You're adding new products regularly and want them all audited
  • You want your full catalog optimized for AI shopping agents, not just a subset

How to upgrade

The upgrade process takes about 30 seconds:

  1. Open Vantage in your Shopify admin
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Click Upgrade to Starter
  4. Shopify displays a billing approval page showing the plan details ($19/month with 3-day free trial)
  5. Click Approve to confirm

Your Starter plan activates immediately, raising your audit limit to 50 products. To score products that were already synced but previously unaudited, trigger a re-sync from the dashboard — the audit runs as part of the sync.

Note

After upgrading, trigger a re-sync from the dashboard to audit any previously unscored products. They were already synced — they just need to go through the scoring engine.

What happens to your data

Upgrading preserves everything:

  • All existing scores and audit history remain intact
  • Dashboard analytics continue uninterrupted
  • Metafield data already written to products is unchanged
  • Optimization suggestions and their statuses carry over

The free trial

The Starter plan includes a 3-day free trial. During the trial:

  • All Starter features are active (50-product limit)
  • You are not charged
  • You can cancel before the trial ends to avoid any charge
  • If you cancel during the trial, you revert to Free immediately

Can I downgrade later?

Yes. You can return to the Free plan at any time:

  • Go to Settings in Vantage, or
  • Go to Settings > Billing in your Shopify admin

When you downgrade, the Starter subscription is cancelled and your audit limit returns to 25 products. Products beyond the limit keep their existing scores but won't be re-audited until you upgrade again.
