Everything you need to know about how Vantage billing works.

How is Vantage billed?

Vantage uses Shopify's built-in billing system. There's no separate payment method, credit card form, or external billing portal. Your Vantage subscription charge appears on your regular Shopify invoice alongside your Shopify plan and other app charges.

Do I need a credit card for the Free plan?

No. The Free plan requires no payment information. You can install Vantage and start using it immediately at no cost.

How does the free trial work?

The Starter plan includes a 3-day free trial. When you upgrade:

  1. You approve the subscription through Shopify's billing confirmation page
  2. Your Starter plan features activate immediately
  3. You are not charged during the 3-day trial period
  4. After 3 days, billing begins at $19/month

If you cancel during the trial period, you will not be charged.

What happens when I exceed my product limit?

Products beyond your plan's limit are synced to the Vantage database but not audited or scored. They appear in your product list without score data. To unlock scoring for these products, upgrade to a plan with a higher limit.

Note

Exceeding your limit does not cause errors or block the app. Products are simply unscored until you upgrade.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel in two ways:

  • From Vantage — Go to Settings and use the subscription management controls
  • From Shopify admin — Navigate to Settings > Billing and manage your app subscriptions directly

When you cancel, the Starter subscription is cancelled and you revert to the Free plan with a 25-product audit limit. Shopify manages any proration of charges for the current billing period.

Can I get a refund?

Billing is managed by Shopify, so refund policies follow Shopify's standard app billing terms. If you cancel during the free trial, you won't be charged. For billing disputes after the trial, contact Shopify support or reach out to us through the GROWstack support portal.

What about development stores?

Shopify development stores and Partner test stores have limitations with app billing:

  • You can install Vantage on a development store
  • The Free plan works normally
  • The Starter plan upgrade may not be available on development stores that don't support app charges

If you're testing on a development store and the upgrade button isn't working, this is likely a Shopify billing restriction for development stores, not a Vantage issue.

Will my price change?

Your subscription price is locked in at the rate when you subscribed. If Vantage introduces new pricing in the future, existing subscribers keep their current rate until they cancel and re-subscribe.

Where can I see my billing history?

Your Vantage charges appear in your Shopify admin under Settings > Billing. You can view past invoices, current charges, and upcoming billing dates there.
