Quick Start Guide
Get CostSync configured and tracking your profits in just a few steps.
1. Add Your First Product Cost
The quickest way to start is by adding costs to your products:
- Go to Products in the CostSync dashboard
- Find a product and click Edit
- Enter the Cost per unit
- Click Save

Tip
Start with your best-selling products to see immediate profit insights.
2. Review Your Dashboard
The dashboard shows your key metrics:
- Total Revenue - Your Shopify sales
- Total COGS - Cost of goods sold
- Gross Profit - Revenue minus COGS
- Profit Margin - Your percentage margin
3. Check Your Orders
Navigate to Orders to see:
- Calculated profit for each order
- COGS breakdown by product
- Margin warnings for low-profit orders
4. Set Up Alerts (Optional)
Configure margin alerts to notify you of low-profit orders:
- Go to Settings > Alerts
- Set your minimum margin threshold
- Choose notification preferences
