Installing CostSync
This guide walks you through installing CostSync on your Shopify store.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- An active Shopify store
- Store owner or staff account with app installation permissions
Installation Steps
Step 1: Find CostSync in the Shopify App Store
- Visit the Shopify App Store
- Search for "CostSync"
- Click on the CostSync app listing
Step 2: Install the App
- Click the Add app button
- Review the permissions requested
- Click Install app to confirm
Step 3: Initial Setup
After installation, you'll be guided through the initial setup:
- Choose your costing method - Select FIFO, LIFO, or Average Cost
- Set your currency preferences - Configure your base currency
- Configure timezone - Ensure reports use your local time
Post-Installation
Once installed, CostSync will:
- Sync your existing products from Shopify
- Create an orders queue for COGS calculation
- Set up default reporting periods
